Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing support with the overall administration, development and coordination of the human resources function, including recruitment, training and development, benefits administration and compliance, employee relations and records management.
The Human Resources Assistant liaises closely with various departments throughout the organization to achieve the Human Resource Department’s goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in various recruitment efforts, including but not limited to:
- Recruit via career fairs, networking, and job postings; conduct applicant tracking
- Maintain and update job descriptions
- Coordinate the Summer Internship Program
- Coordinate all on-boarding efforts including but not limited to:
- Set up employee profile in BambooHR
- Send new hire documents
- Conduct new hire orientation
- Collect and process necessary new hire forms
- Conduct 30-day, 90-day, and 6 months check in
- Assist the Marketing Department to create social media content
- Assist in the administration of the employee benefits such as medical, dental, life, vision, temporary disability programs and flexible spending account tracking
- Maintain employee records and update forms as necessary
- Assist in and monitor the performance evaluation processes by department
- Maintain company HRIS data and LMS data
- Manage all external training courses including registering employees for classes and recording completion within the LMS.
- Administer Hill’s various drug testing programs
- Assist in the coordination of all company sponsored corporate events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Human Resources Management preferred
- Zero to two years of related experience
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint); experience in COINS a plus
Other Qualifications:
- Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations
- Requires great attention to detail, accuracy, an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision while still being a team player; also requires an initiative to learn
- Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated
