Duties

• Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
• Maintain strict food safety standards by handling ingredients properly, practicing sanitation, and adhering to hygiene protocols
• Support menu planning by suggesting new dishes and ensuring ingredient availability for daily meal service
• Contribute to food presentation, plating, and portion control to enhance customer satisfaction
• Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, equipment, workstations, and dining areas regularly
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery in a timely manner
• Assist with catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring all food safety and quality standards are met

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dietary departments or food service environments such as restaurants or catering settings
• Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
• Skilled in food preparation techniques including slicing, chopping, cooking, and recipe adherence
• Experience with menu planning, meal prep, and food industry best practices
• Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality standards
• Prior experience in dietary aide roles or culinary positions preferred but not required
