What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1:1 Aide position at The Helix School?
Responsibilities:
- Working with head teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, Social-Emotional Learning Specialist and/or Occupational Therapist for 1:1 delivery of special education plans and daily instruction
- Assisting the head teacher and others on the student’s team in preparing and presenting academic plan
- Provide behavioral support to student when needed
- Under direction of teachers and therapists, collect data as needed.
- 2 years working with children (special education strongly preferred)
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and
- Experience in hands-on teaching delivery
Additional Qualifications / Compliance Requirements
All Instructional Aides hired at The Helix School must meet at least one of the following minimum paraprofessional qualifications:- Hold an Associate’s degree (AA) or higher from an accredited institution
- Have completed at least 48 semester units of college coursework
- Pass an approved paraprofessional skills assessment
