About the School
BOOST of Cypress School is a small non-public school located in San Rafael. BOOST serves children and young adults with Orthopedic Impairments like Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities TK- 22. Our classroom teachers work with a team of specialists to provide individualized and systematic academic programs that support each student’s unique mobility and academic needs. From occupational, physical, and speech therapy, to behavioral needs and life skill building, our unique team of educators work to create the learning environment that best suits each student in a fun and engaging way.
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Hours: The average employee works an 8 hour shift but both part-time and full-time hours are available
Shift Availability: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm (this is not your work schedule. This is the window schedules are available based on your availability and needs of the school)
Location: San Rafael, CA

Job Overview:
Are you passionate about working with students with disabilities? If so, we have the role for you! Join our dedicated team as a Teacher Aide, where you will play a vital role in enabling our children to access and thrive in our curriculum. You will assist the Teacher in providing a nurturing and stimulating educational environment for young learners. This hands-on position involves working closely with children, assisting with personal care, and engaging in various activities that support their development.
Ideally, as a Teacher Aide, you will also pick up and drop off students before and after school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to children in accessing and engaging with the curriculum.
- Assist with personal care needs.
- Facilitate and participate in various educational and developmental activities.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Pick up students, drive them to our school in San Rafael, and return them home daily.

Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid California Driver’s license with a clear driving record
- Cleared fingerprint/background test required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test required
- Negative TB test and medical examination required
- First Aid certified or willing to become certified required
- Preference for applicants with previous experience working with students with autism or similar disabilities
