The Hebrew Academy of Orange County (HAOC) implements a unique, dynamic, and innovative dual curriculum grounded in current standards and research-based instructional strategies to support strong academic outcomes for students in grades K–12. Our Judaic and General Studies faculty work collaboratively to foster a classroom environment that is engaging, respectful, and academically supportive. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining continuity of instruction and upholding the school’s values during a teacher’s absence. Successful Hebrew Academy substitute teachers demonstrate: A valid California teaching credential (multiple or single subject preferred) or eligibility to serve as a substitute teacher in California; Prior classroom experience working with school-aged children (teaching experience preferred); A student-centered, flexible, and professional approach to classroom instruction; The ability to follow lesson plans and classroom procedures provided by the regular teacher; Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment; A commitment to serving as a positive role model for students; Reliability, adaptability, and a strong work ethic; and Respect for and willingness to support the school’s mission, values, and community. Responsibilities include: Providing classroom instruction and supervision in accordance with lesson plans and school policies; Maintaining a structured, respectful, and safe classroom environment that reflects the school’s core values of kindness, respect, courtesy, gratitude, and truth; Supporting both General and Judaic Studies classes as assigned; Taking attendance and fulfilling routine classroom responsibilities; Communicating relevant student or classroom information to administration as needed; Using classroom technology and instructional materials appropriately; Supervising students during transitions, recess, lunch, or dismissal a
