The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for scheduling appointments, checking in/out patients, daily reconciliation, collecting payments, obtaining and checking referrals, answering phones. Additional duties may also be assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet Patients
- Check patients in by obtaining detailed demographics, insurance and referrals
- Call referring physician if referral not received or not completed correctly
- Collect co-payments and payments on account
- Daily Reconciliation Take detailed phone messages and communicate messages to the appropriate department
- Check patients out by scheduling appropriate appointments ( i.e., echo’s, stress echo’s, nuclear, follow-ups)
- Instruct patients on tests and procedures
- Answer doctor phone line / triage calls
- Notify physicians of consults and admissions at the hospital
- Reschedule patients due to office changes
- Send reports as requested clear physician’s desks and fax machine
- Fill out disability forms Distribute faxesGOMO chat messages
- Authorizations for outside testing& same/next day in house add-ons
