Job Description:
We are looking for a Project Support Specialist to support Project Managers with the administrative and technical coordination of mechanical construction projects. This position will assist with project documentation, budgeting and cost monitoring, subcontractor coordination, material takeoffs, proposals, customer communication, project meetings, reporting, and other activities related to successful project execution. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with both office and field personnel, and able to take ownership of assigned tasks while keeping Project Managers informed of project needs and concerns. This role provides an opportunity to develop additional project management skills and take on increasing responsibility based on experience and ability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers with ensuring projects meet quality requirements and are progressing and completed on time, within budget, and with defined resources
- Manage the completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner, development of scopes of work for subcontractor quotes and handling logistics of pre-construction submittals, meetings, budgeting, reporting, and close-out
- Collaborate with the Project Managers to ensure a complete scope of work is defined
- Develop competencies with reviewing drawings and specifications and assist with preparing project schedules
- Monitor project budgets and labor costs, alert the Project Managers of any concerns
- Prepare, maintain and present computer-generated logs and reports
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with Project Manager, Superintendents and Field Foremen
- Prepare and manage communications internally with the construction team and support functions with General Contractors and their team for assigned projects
- Maintain that quality control procedures are followed on all projects and report issues to Project Managers when they arise
- Initiative is shown in taking on additional duties and responsibilities
- Seek guidance and direction as necessary from the Project Managers and can demonstrate good judgment in reporting issues or problems
- Uphold professionalism, integrity and values; including treating all Team members with respect and dignity
- Comply with all operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established
Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in a construction related field or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of two years' experience in the construction industry
- Mechanical industry experience preferred
- Possession of a valid Alaska driver's license and satisfactory driver record
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies:
- Must have excellent communication skills, the use of analytical, technical, writing and interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to organize, schedule, direct, control, and manage construction projects and field personnel
- Skill in the use of computers, Windows-based operating environment

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Requires physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds
- Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the shift
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- Must have the ability to handle stress and operate under deadlines
Role Details:
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Schedule: M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm
Pay: $35.00-$42.00/Hr
Salary : $35 - $42
