Project Manager
This position will manage all phases of project delivery, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of a complex marine infrastructure project that supports the reliability of Client's transmission system.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of electrical power transmission systems, experience managing large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or Design-Build projects, and expertise in environmental permitting and marine construction activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the overall execution of a major undersea electrical transmission cable replacement project from concept through commissioning.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, environmental, regulatory, and stakeholder activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Manage EPC and/or Design-Build contractors, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee project scope, cost, quality, schedule, safety, and risk management activities.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of marine construction work plans involving seabed asset installation, removal, and replacement.
- Coordinate marine operations, vessel activities, and contractor mobilization efforts.
- Facilitate permitting efforts and regulatory compliance with federal, state, local, and environmental agencies.
- Manage project communications with internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, contractors, and executive leadership.
- Review engineering designs, technical specifications, construction methods, and contract requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to project delivery.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and executive updates.
- Ensure compliance with Client safety standards, applicable regulations, environmental requirements, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressively responsible project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure, utility, energy, or marine construction projects.
- Experience with electrical power transmission systems and utility infrastructure.
- Experience delivering projects through EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and/or Design-Build delivery models.
- Experience managing environmental and regulatory permitting processes.
- Experience developing, reviewing, or managing marine work plans involving the installation, removal, or replacement of assets on the seabed.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification.
- Experience with submarine or undersea power transmission cable projects.
- Familiarity with marine surveying, seabed investigations, cable installation methods, and marine risk management.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations applicable to marine infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within electric utility organizations.
