Position Summary
The Rig Clerk (Nights) provides administrative, clerical, and logistical support at the rig site to ensure accurate documentation, efficient communication, and smooth day‑to‑day operations. Working in a remote Arctic environment, the Rig Clerk supports drilling, workover, and completion activities by maintaining records, tracking personnel and materials, and assisting the Wellsite Supervisor and rig team with essential administrative functions at Prudhoe Bay.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Clerical Support
- Maintain accurate daily rig records including:
- Personnel on board (POB) logs
- Daily activity reports
- Time sheets and crew rosters
- Prepare, distribute, and file correspondence, reports, and operational documentation
- Assist Wellsite Supervisor and rig leadership with administrative tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of operational and personnel information
Personnel & Logistics Tracking
- Track and update crew changes, travel manifests, and bed space usage
- Coordinate with logistics, dispatch, and aviation teams as needed
- Assist with onboarding documentation for new arrivals
- Maintain visitor and contractor logs in compliance with site requirements
Materials & Inventory Support
- Assist with tracking materials, equipment, and consumables delivered to the rig
- Maintain basic inventory records and usage logs
- Support expeditors and materials coordinators with documentation and status tracking
- Report shortages or discrepancies to rig supervision
Reporting & Communication
- Compile and submit daily and weekly reports as directed
- Maintain clear communication between the rig site and field or office‑based teams
- Monitor email, radios, and internal communication systems
- Assist with distribution of operational updates, safety alerts, and notices
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Comply with all HSE and environmental policies
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near‑misses
- Support compliance with Alaska North Slope environmental and operational requirements
Arctic & Prudhoe Bay‑Specific Duties
- Perform duties under extreme cold, limited daylight, and remote conditions
- Follow Arctic survival, cold‑weather PPE, and winter operations procedures
- Adapt administrative support to changing weather, logistics delays, and operational tempo
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional office administration or business coursework preferred
Experience
- 1–3 years of clerical, administrative, or field office experience
- Prior experience in:
- Oil and gas operations
- Remote or industrial work environments
- Alaska North Slope or Arctic experience preferred
Certifications (Required or Preferred)
- Arctic or Cold Weather Safety Training (or ability to obtain)
- H2S Awareness (preferred)
First Aid / CPR (preferred)
