The Harker School is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team!
The Office of Communication Graphic Designer is a creative professional who designs and produces a wide variety of graphic projects for The Harker School. Projects include print, digital graphics, clothing and merchandise, environmental graphics and signage, and presentations for various departments including corporate, admission marketing, PR, advancement, academics, athletics and performing arts. This position partners closely with colleagues inside and outside the Office of Communication, as well as external vendors, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Work Schedule:
This position works Monday through Friday, with daily hours to be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, revise and produce a wide range of materials including handbooks, flyers, posters, programs, logos, forms, corporate stationery, digital displays, presentation templates, email graphics, advertisements, social media graphics, signage, merchandise and more
- Maintain and uphold brand identity across all print and digital platforms
- Partner with the Eagle Store Manager to provide art direction and ensure brand alignment for uniforms and merchandise
- Oversee and maintain the internal digital asset management system and institutional archives
- Create and manage school logos and graphics files for departmental use, including vector optimization and web-ready formats
- Produce or source artwork and illustrations as needed, and select/edit photography for projects
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices; provide recommendations to enhance department effectiveness
- Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain memberships in relevant organizations (UCDA, AIGA, CASE)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in-house, nonprofit, or educational environments
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro DC)
- Strong knowledge of typography, color theory, and design for text-heavy publications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Understanding of print production processes, file formats, and pre-press requirements
- Knowledge of font management and legal considerations for digital assets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with web and digital design (UX/UI, HTML/CSS)
- Familiarity with working with freelancers and external vendors

Salary : $75,000 - $88,000
