Position Summary:
The Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the beverage program, including wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings. This role involves developing innovative beverage menus, managing inventory and costs, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and training staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Beverage Director collaborates closely with culinary and operations teams to maintain brand standards and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Development:
• Curate and maintain compelling, seasonal beverage menus that align with the brand identity.
• Operations & Compliance:
• Oversee beverage operations across all outlets, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Financial Management:
• Manage beverage inventory and conduct regular audits.
• Monitor and optimize beverage costs and profitability.
• Collaborate with vendors and negotiate contracts to maximize value.
• Team Leadership:
• Recruit, train, and mentor, sommeliers, and beverage staff.
• Conduct regular tastings and workshops to maintain product knowledge and service excellence.
• Guest Experience:
• Maintain a strong floor presence during service to engage with guests and support staff.
• Handle guest feedback related to beverages and address issues proactively.
Qualifications:
• 5 years of progressive experience in beverage management, ideally in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or high-volume operations.
• Advanced knowledge of wine, sake, beer and beverage pairings; certification (e.g., WSET, CMS, Cicerone) preferred.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
