What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Director / Worship Leader - Part time position at The Harbor Church?
The Harbor Church, located on the border of Cottage Grove and Hastings, MN, is looking for a gifted Jesus follower to join our staff as a half-time Worship Director. We’re looking for someone who loves leading people in worship, enjoys developing musicians and worship team members, and has a heart for helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Worship Director (Harbor Church - 20 hrs/wk):
At The Harbor Church, we seek to live, work, and play out of a growing awareness of the Holy Spirit’s movement within us and among us. Our first priority is cultivating our partnership with Him. Living by the Holy Spirit and keeping in step with Him is our primary task (Galatians 5:16, 25). This is accomplished by growing in listening to God, meditating on His Word, praying, and worshipping.
Worship service coordination
- Work with the pastor(s) in developing the worship life of the church.
- Work with the pastor(s) in creating a worship flow for the weekend services.
- Communicate the worship service plan with the relevant tech and worship teams.
Worship team leadership and coordination
- Lead/participate on the worship team each week
- Recruit and develop the worship team with an eye for heart and skill development.
- Create the worship team roster each month.
- Shepherd and care for worship team members.
- Train and develop upcoming worship leaders.
Music skill and song selection development
- Responsible for the continual development of personal instrumental and vocal skills.
- Responsible for the research and incorporation of most current worship music in the services.
Other responsibilities
- Lead worship at various church gatherings when needed (youth group, men’s group, other worship/prayer times at church).
Qualifications:
- A growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with the mission and values of The Harbor Church (see www.theharborchurch.com/statement-of-faith).
- Strong musical ability and experience leading worship. Proficiency in either guitar or keys required.
- Ability to recruit, lead, disciple, and develop musicians and volunteers.
- Strong relational, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Previous worship ministry or related leadership experience preferred.
Pay: $20,000.00 - $26,000.00 per year
