ROLE SUMMARY:
The h.wood Group is seeking a Wine Manager to support and execute the wine program across multiple venues, ensuring consistency, organization, and operational excellence. Working closely with the Wine Director, this role is responsible for key administrative and operational functions including inventory management, cellar organization and stocking, and maintaining accuracy within the POS system.

The Wine Manager will also support the guest experience through floor presence, providing knowledgeable and approachable wine service, guiding guests through the wine list, and ensuring service standards are met.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-minded, with a strong interest in wine and a desire to grow within a structured beverage program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain complete knowledge of wine lists and wine and food pairings at all venues.
- Maintain and update cellar/storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls. Assist the Lead Bartenders with product ordering to maintain stock.
- Meet regularly with the wine trade to actively seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program as well as evaluate wines and other beverages for potential purchase.
- Verify accuracy of wine deliveries ordered and received from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when a warehouse error has occurred.
- Maintain appropriate beverage costs by managing prices, purchases and requisitions, eliminating waste by training and supervising employees on wine knowledge, pour levels and proper storage, and through over cost-reducing means.
- Be actively involved in weekly, in-venue wine education with Front of House staff
- Perform other job-related duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in high volume, elevated dining restaurant.
- Must have Food Handler’s Certification.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be detail oriented and possess effective communication and written skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be a team player.
- Self-motivated and performance driven.
- Professional and courteous.
- Remain in stationary position for up to 8 hours throughout the work shift.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
- Effective communication, written and interpersonal skills.
