The Front Desk Associate will greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the gym and provide control of the front door location. This position will provide assistance to member's requests along with inquiries about gym operations and policies as well as perform various administrative duties as directed by the Gym General Manager. This is not a seasonal position, we are hiring for someone available year round.

Major Responsibilities

Front End Check In, Customer Service, and Telephone Communication:

  • Enthusiastically greets each members and guests promptly using the proper greeting for time of day to create a friendly positive entrance and departure to and from the gym.
  • Personally checks each member into the gym using the proper check-in procedures and monitoring check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and either corrects errors immediately or notify Management on duty for further processing and assistance.
  • Cleans and maintains the front desk, gym floor and bathrooms according to company standards.
  • Provides security and control to the front door and retail area of the facility.
  • Processes retail and concession sales.
  • Answers phone by the third ring in a professional and courteous manner and uses proper phone greeting techniques.
  • Addresses caller questions and requests and/or takes appropriate messages by properly filling out the script pad and informing Management in a consistent manner for appropriate follow up.
  • Available to work a variety of shifts including weekends

Guest Traffic:

  • Register all guests into the gym using proper registration procedures.
  • Ensures that guests and appointments are directed to the appropriate
  • team member in a prompt, professional manner.

Club Maintenance and Safety:

  • Logs all maintenance concerns that are reported.
  • Follows and reports any safety concerns.
  • Notifies management of gym incidents that requires incident reports.

Job Performance and Expectations:

  • Maintain neat appearance and wear proper uniform attire with name tag while on duty.
  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures as instructed and outlined on the daily checklist.
  • Attends all staff meetings as directed.
  • Responsible for all shift responsibilities as outlined on the daily checklist.
  • Works when scheduled and adheres to company attendance policies.
  • Performs other reasonable work assignments as directed by the Gym General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager to include but not limited to light cleaning and picking up of weights.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • CPR and AED Certification required.
  • Food Allergen Training required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Bilingual candidate preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and non-verbally in writing is required
  • Understanding of basic cash processing procedures is required.
  • Functional computer skills are required.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 50bs repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time

  • Comply with all The Gym @ Milford’s policies and procedures

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
