Landscape Installation / Construction Crew Leader
The Grounds Guys of Mobile is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Landscape Installation / Construction Crew Leader to lead a crew of 2–3 team members on landscape construction and installation projects. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work, can effectively lead a team, and has experience reading plans and managing job sites.
Position Summary
The Landscape Installation / Construction Crew Leader is responsible for overseeing daily landscape construction projects while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Crew Leader will work alongside the crew while directing daily activities, communicating with management, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a crew of 2–3 team members.
- Read and interpret landscape plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily job site activities and delegate tasks to crew members.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and productivity.
- Operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscape equipment.
- Install landscape beds, shrubs, trees, sod, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, pavers, fences, and other landscape construction features.
- Perform site layout and measurements according to plans.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Communicate project progress, material needs, and job site issues to management.
- Ensure proper job site cleanup at the end of each workday.
- Maintain positive and professional interactions with customers.
QualificationsRequired
- 5 years of landscape installation or landscape construction experience.
- Experience leading and managing a crew.
- Ability to read and understand landscape plans and blueprints.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pull trailers safely and confidently.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Dependable transportation to and from work.
- Minimum of three professional references.
Preferred
- Experience with irrigation installation and repair.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, and compact equipment.
- Experience installing pavers, retaining walls, drainage systems, and landscape lighting.

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays during peak seasons.
