The Greene School, an EL Education Credentialed School, is seeking a Chemistry Teacher for a long-term substitute position who is passionate about teaching, relates well to young adolescents, and desires to contribute to our learning community. We are a public charter school serving 200 students in grades 9-12.
Our 70-acre campus includes four different ecosystems: forest, field, pond and stream. While The Greene School is nestled rurally, our student body is one of the most diverse in the state of Rhode Island and comes from urban, rural and suburban areas. :
The ideal candidate for a long-term substitute position in the Science Department will have excellent subject expertise and possess the following attributes:
-Strong background in chemistry and science education
-Commitment to hands-on, inquiry-based learning that connects chemistry to real-world environmental issues
-Interest in and demonstrated skill working with adolescents
-Willingness to contribute to the life of the school community
-The ability to collaborate with colleagues as part of a team
-Experience with laboratory safety and management
