The Green Plug is a growing New York–based energy efficiency company specializing in solar, roofing, HVAC, and home performance solutions. We are looking for a sharp, highly organized Operations Manager to help run day-to-day operations and support our continued growth.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, problem-solving, and improving systems. Solar experience is a plus but not required — we will train the right person.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will act as the backbone of the company, ensuring projects, people, and systems run smoothly. This person must be tech savvy, detail-oriented, and a strong critical thinker who can identify issues before they become problems and help build scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across solar and energy efficiency projects
- Manage administrative workflows, documentation, and internal systems
- Coordinate between sales, field crews, engineering, and permitting
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Identify bottlenecks and propose operational improvements
- Maintain accuracy in CRMs, project management tools, and internal trackers
- Ensure permits, inspections, and paperwork stay organized and on schedule
- Support leadership with reporting, scheduling, and process optimization
- Handle problem-solving when projects stall or issues arise
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in operations, administration, or project coordination
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Tech savvy — comfortable learning and working within CRMs, portals, spreadsheets, and digital tools
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience in solar, construction, or energy efficiency
- Familiarity with permitting processes or inspections
