About The Role

What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate activities of several subcommittees of the RISE program, which includes developing agendas, running meetings, preparing meeting summaries and conducting follow-up activities
- Work with volunteers to achieve the objectives of the RISE program
- Recruit sponsors for the overall program and individual events
- Develop and implement budgets for program and individual events
- Work with volunteers to market the program, including social media
- Develop and manage various events, in cooperation with volunteer committees
- Represent RISE at business and community events and meetings, including formal presentations if necessary
- Assist with other leadership development activities of The Chamber
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in business, marketing, sales or event planning OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of experience in sales, marketing or event planning activities, or a combination of education and experience.
- Outgoing personality and positive attitude
- Experience managing programs or events involving multiple stakeholders and volunteers
- Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and customer relationship management software
- Based at the Chamber office (501 E. Capitol Ave., Suite A, Springfield, IL)
- Occasional evening hours required for events and outreach
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and travel locally as needed
