Program Manager

Horace Mann is seeking an experienced and strategic Program Manager to lead complex, enterprise-level initiatives that drive business and technology outcomes. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for managing multiple large-scale projects or programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader and communicator who can think strategically across the enterprise while effectively driving execution and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and manage multiple large projects and/or enterprise programs.
• Think strategically across the organization, aligning program objectives with business and technology goals.
• Develop and oversee program plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
• Assist with the development of business cases, defining scope, value, and resource needs.

Execution & Delivery

• Carry out procedures to ensure all technology solutions and services meet company standards and user requirements.
• Define and clarify project and program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Monitor program progress, ensuring milestones and goals are achieved.
• Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, including development of mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and manage program teams and deliverables, including directing other project managers.
• Determine team structure, define roles and responsibilities, and set clear direction.
• Mentor and develop less experienced project managers and team members.
• Motivate teams and foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for program sponsors, steering committees, and stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, including executive-level leadership.
• Coordinate activities across multiple functions to ensure alignment and program success.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, sponsors, and senior management. 

Qualifications & Experience

• H.S Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 8 years of project or program management experience required.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex programs and multiple project workstreams.
• Strong understanding of business and product operations across multiple lines of business.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or coursework in Project/Program Management (e.g., CAPM, PMP, PgMP) preferred.

Additional Information

• Normal office environment.
• Periodic travel may be required.
• Ongoing education in Project/Program Management is encouraged and supported.

Pay Range:

• $105,200.00 - $147,950.00/annually 

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
