The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a professional and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, members, and guests while supporting daily office operations.
This is a part-time, in-office role offering a consistent schedule and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team focused on supporting business growth in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (25 hours per week)
About the Role
In this position, you will provide front desk coverage, assist with office operations, and support administrative needs across departments. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment that allows staff to focus on their core work.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Reception
- Greet and direct visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer and route incoming calls
- Monitor and respond to general email inquiries
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Assist with conference room scheduling and meeting setup
Office Operations
- Manage office, beverage, and kitchen supply inventory and ordering
- Monitor supply levels and coordinate restocking
- Organize storage areas and coordinate deliveries
- Assist with basic tracking of supply expenses
- Support building access coordination
Administrative Support
- Provide data entry and filing support
- Process incoming paperwork and payments as directed
- Assist with light administrative tasks across departments
- Support special projects as assigned

- Front desk is consistently staffed and responsive
- Visitors and callers receive a positive, professional experience
- Office supplies and shared spaces are well-maintained
- Staff interruptions are minimized, improving overall efficiency
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma required
- Associate degree or administrative coursework preferred
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in reception, office administration, or customer-facing roles required
Skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized and dependable
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy office environment
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Additional Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift light office supplies as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Work Environment
This is a fully in-office position located in downtown Scranton, PA.
