The Great Lakes Stair & Millwork Co., an established custom staircase and architectural millwork manufacturer that has been in business for over 35 years, is seeking an experienced General Manager / Sales Manager to help lead our sales, shop, and office operations.
This is a key leadership position for an individual with extensive experience in the custom stair, millwork, or high-end architectural woodworking industry. The ideal candidate will combine strong sales and customer-relations skills with the ability to oversee projects and operations from initial consultation through completion.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience within the stair industry or a closely related high-end custom millwork field
- Develop and manage custom stair projects from initial customer inquiry and estimating through production, delivery, and completion
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, designers, architects, and high-end residential clients
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day shop and office operations
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and computer skills
- Professionally represent the company when working with discerning clientele
- Ability to coordinate multiple custom projects while maintaining exceptional standards for quality and customer service
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Associate degree or higher preferred; significant relevant industry experience will also be considered
