Overview
We are an established commercial contractor based in Mt. Angel, Oregon, seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and project bids for diverse commercial construction projects throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley. The ideal candidate has deep familiarity with regional material costs, strong relationships with local subcontractors, and a proven track record of winning profitable bids
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Preparation: Review architectural blueprints, project specifications, and RFPs to prepare complete, accurate, and timely commercial cost estimates.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed material, labor, and equipment takeoffs using software to ensure precise calculations.
- Subcontractor Procurement: Solicit, review, and negotiate bids from local Mid-Willamette Valley subcontractors and suppliers to ensure complete scope coverage.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential project challenges, site complexities, and structural risks, factoring them into cost projections.
- Project Scheduling: Build preliminary project schedules during the bidding phase to accurately estimate labor timelines and overhead costs.
- Collaboration: Partner with project managers and clients to review bid strategies, value engineer alternatives, and transition won projects to the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5 years of proven experience as a construction estimator, specifically in the commercial sector. Must have strong background in concrete, framing, building envelope and finish carpentry, as we self perform all these scopes.
- Software Proficiency: Required hands-on proficiency with Bluebeam (for digital takeoffs and markups), Sage Estimating (for cost modeling and database management), and MS Project (for baseline project scheduling).
- Local Knowledge: Strong understanding of regional material markets, local subcontractor networks, and Oregon building codes.
- Location: Ability to work reliably out of our Mt. Angel office and occasionally travel to project sites across the Mid-Willamette Valley.
- Attributes: Sharp mathematical accuracy, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight bidding deadlines.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
