What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Assistant position at The Granite YMCA?
The Kitchen Assistant maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all, and provides a quality experience to the community. Attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and a passion for serving others are vital to the success of this position.
Part time position, approximately 25hours per week
Monday through Friday 11:00a - 4:00p with some flexibility
Full-time position may be available for right candidate
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the preparation and serving of food under the supervision of the Food Service Manager
- Stocking and organizing food and supplies
- Helping take inventory of foods and supplies
- Responsible for following all YMCA, state and federal guidelines, laws and regulations around kitchen, sanitary and food preparation procedures
- Responsible for the washing of dishes and the cleaning and care of the kitchen and equipment
- Cleans kitchen facility in accordance to state and city guidance
Qualifications:
- Prior experience preparing and serving food of a large quantity (200 meals served daily) preferred
- Ability to read, interpret and follow all YMCA, local and federal regulations and best practices pertaining to the assigned area and associated services
- Strong organization and project management skills
