What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance and Operations position at The Gove Group Real Estate, LLC?
This is not a back-office role. This is the operational engine of a high-performing real estate company.
The Gove Group is a boutique brokerage with 55 agents and 300–400 transactions annually. We’re known for high standards, strong systems, and a genuinely collaborative culture.
We’re looking for someone who wants to own operations, bring order to complexity, and play a key role in leadership—not just complete tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Log and track all incoming contracts, maintain accurate records of pending and closed transactions, and monitor closing timelines to ensure clear visibility into company sales activity
- Oversee transaction file compliance and escrow tracking to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage payroll coordination, payables, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Maintain clean, reliable financials that leadership can use to make confident decisions
Business Intelligence & Leadership Support
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
- Provide regular reporting and insights to ownership
- Help develop dashboards to track company performance and forecasting
Team & Operational Oversight
- Supervise and support the Office Administrator to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Oversee vendor coordination, office-related matters, and administrative systems
HR & Administrative Functions
- Support basic HR functions including employee record-keeping, PTO tracking, and policy administration
- Assist with hiring logistics such as interviews and coordinating onboarding paperwork
- Help ensure consistency in company policies and internal documentation
Who You Are
- Financially literate with experience in reporting, reconciliations, and payroll coordination
- Highly organized with the ability to build and maintain effective systems
- Analytical and proactive—you identify issues early and take action
- Tech-comfortable (QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets; BoldTrail a plus)
It's a plus if you have:
- Experience in real estate operations, finance, or brokerage management
Strong understanding of real estate transactions and compliance
This Role Is NOT for You If:
- You’re uncomfortable holding people accountable or asking for missing/incorrect information
- You need constant direction instead of taking initiative
Why This Role Stands Out
- High-impact role with direct visibility into company performance
- Opportunity to improve and own systems across the business
- Collaborative, team-first environment with high standards
- Meaningful involvement in the operational and financial health of the company
