Houseperson (AM shifts)

Come and be a part of the Gordon Hotel team at Eugene's newest boutique hotel! We are looking for an energetic and positive addition to our Housekeeping team. We are looking to fill 2 full-time positions - one as an AM Houseperson and one as a PM Houseperson. Read more about the Houseperson position below:

Our Houseperson is responsible for performing routine duties in cleaning and servicing of the public areas under supervision of the Housekeeping Inspector or Housekeeping Manager. The Houseperson must promote a positive image of the Gordon Hotel to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, and address guests requests and problems in a timely and professional manner.

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Cleans and services public spaces of the hotel, including public restrooms, fitness room, meetings rooms, lobby, etc.
• Assists with basic maintenance tasks (e.g. changing a light bulb, plunging a toilet, etc.)
• Provides Room Attendants with needed supplies and stocking storerooms.
• Performs routine duties including but not limited to, washing, drying, folding, and sorting linen and terry for pick-up.
• Removes trash and collects soiled linens.
• Deliver clean linen and terry to the store rooms on the guest room floors.

• Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.

• Flips mattresses over on a quarterly basis or as required by manufacturer.
• Reports any damage, repair needs, or loss of supplies.

• Acts as security for the property, walking the property and checking doors, stairwells and common areas.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team player
• Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times.
• Performs and assists with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull required load approx. 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. with assistance

• Must be able to spend the majority of the day standing, kneeling, bend, carrying and walking

• Strong attention to detail required

• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions

• Must be flexible in hours and days available to work, including all shifts, weekends and holidays

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience with general knowledge of cleaning chemicals preferred

• Must be able to concentrate on repetitive tasks

• Must have effective communication skills and must be able to work with a variety of people.

• Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with multiple interruptions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
