The Guest Service Agent is responsible for welcoming guests to the Gordon Hotel and ensuring a high-level of guest services is offered to guests throughout the course of their stay, from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, be passionate about internal and external guest service, possess good multi-tasking skills and be a detail-oriented team player.
The Guest Service Agent is responsible for proactively determining the needs of our guests, being the expert in our area to ensure great concierge services, ensuring every guest request is met and followed up on, creating and modifying guest reservations, answering phones, checking guests in and out of the hotel, and completed a daily checklist of routine tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides prompt, friendly service to ensure guest satisfaction and return visits.
- Greet and register arriving guests, provide room assignments, maintain guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible.
- Maintain a positive, friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Facilitate guest departures on a daily basis by following established procedures in order to close guest accounts.
- Promote and sell services/amenities of the Hotel.
- Promote repeat business by offering to create future reservations for guests.
- Be aware of potential sales leads and contacts through guest interactions. Report information to the appropriate individual.
- Courteously answer inquiries and guest requests.
- Process all guest mail, packages, messages, and faxes by receiving, sorting, notifying and distributing.
- Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of any special requests, late check-outs, and special need areas.
- Accurately, securely, and promptly handle cash and credit-card transactions. Use proper cash-handling methods by following established procedures. Ensure accuracy of transactions with the guest prior to check-out.
- Check all credit card transactions for validity before the end of the shift.
- Ensure all cash is balanced at shift end.
- Assist in other areas as needed, which may include: housekeeping.
- Help maintain a clean and professional lobby, entryway, back of house, and turnaround by dusting, vacuuming, cleaning tables, and wiping down door handles.
- Maintain certification for proper alcohol service.
- Be flexible in regards to work schedule, understanding that hospitality is a 24/7 industry and evenings and weekends are likely required.
- Utilize service logs, wake-up logs, adjustment logs, and communication logs from shift to shift.
- Learn, utilize, and ensure understanding of the Property Management System (Rover).
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment with all staff, supervisors, and managers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.
- Report to supervisor the needed repairs or unsafe conditions promptly.

- Attend mandatory meetings.
- Successfully meet all deadlines required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Prior cash handling experience necessary.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain OLCC license.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Must be flexible in hours and days available to work, including all shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Previous guest service or valet experience preferred.
- Must be able to concentrate on repetitive tasks.
- Must have effective communication skills and must be able to work with a variety of people.
- Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with multiple interruptions.
