Senior Healthcare Accountant needed to work onsite in Jamaica, NY. Qualified candidates MUST have (3-5) three-five years of experience working as an Sr. Accountant in a Healthcare or Hospital setting, Bachelors degree and advance Excel knowledge.Essential Responsibilities:Preparation of interim and annual financial statement to review by the CFO and VP, finance (prepares and record journal entries which include multi-entity allocations, intercompany transactions, handle all general ledger account and maintain all monthly and year end adjusting entries and account analysis).Perform assigned accounting functions, complete assigned reports and analysis and provide accurate and timely information for review.Preparation of P&L and Balance sheet supporting schedules and reports for external auditors and respond to special requests for upper management.Oversees General accounting department and train staff and cross-over for absent employees.Responsible for tracking of fixed assets, construction in progress and capital leases.Assist with the External Auditors Perform varying account analysis and work papers.Preparation of physician compensation and contract administration functions for over 200 physicians (employed and 1099), responsible of implementing compensation plans/models to show overall physician strategy.Interface with outside accountant in providing the data needed for preparation of corporate tax return which includes intensive data analysis and research.Preparation of all quarterly and yearly federal and state tax returns.Prepare budgets to be reviewed by the CFO and VP of Finance.Approve check request for payment.Handle any request for special project.Works with confidential data.Education and Work Experience:Bachelors degree in AccountingCPA/ MBA desiredMinimum of 3 years accounting experienceHealthcare/Hospital Accounting experience - REQUIREDSkills and Knowledge:Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)Presentation SkillsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAdvanced proficiency in MS Office products: Excel, Word, Access and PowerPointExcellent written and oral communication skills
