Overview
Our prestigious law firm client is looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join the NYC team! This role delivers timely, cost-efficient research support across legal and business subject areas. The Analyst partners with attorneys, paralegals, administrative teams, and clients to source, validate, and present information from a wide range of print and digital tools.
SCHEDULE Monday: 11:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Tuesday–Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. On-site
Must have law firm and/or financial firm experience!
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regulatory and SEC-focused research, including document retrieval, precedent searches, and review of agreements.
- Perform corporate due diligence and background investigations on companies, individuals, transactions, governance matters, and deal activity.
- Support litigation teams by analyzing complex fact patterns and obtaining dockets, pleadings, and case materials.
- Handle legislative, financial, statistical, and other non-legal research requests.
- Supply data to support internal publications, training materials, client deliverables, and firm-wide presentations.
- Oversee tasks delegated to external research vendors, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Set up and maintain alerts for news, transactions, filings, dockets, and other information sources.
- Assist with onboarding and training programs for new associates and paralegals.
- Evaluate updated research platforms and tools and recommend resources that enhance the firm’s knowledge capabilities.
- Contribute to ad hoc research initiatives and projects that strengthen overall service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong online research capabilities and proficiency with major research platforms, such as Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law & Terminal, Intelligize, Capital IQ, FactSet, VitalLaw, PACER, Courtlink, Deal Point Data, ISS Compass, Refinitiv, and similar tools.
- High level of technical competence, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines, work independently, and collaborate within a fast-paced team environment.
- Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Professionalism and diplomacy when working with attorneys, staff, vendors, and occasional client contacts.
Education & Experience
- M.S. in Library Science required; J.D. preferred.
- At least three years of research experience in a major law firm or financial institution.
Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
