Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Dog Groomer, whose passion for dogs and grooming will show through their work to join our team. You will be providing professional grooming services tailored to each client's preferences and their dog's individual needs. Your skills in animal handling and customer service will help create a friendly and welcoming environment for both the client and staff. We are open Wednesday-Saturday 8 am-5 pm, and you must be able to work these days.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services, including bathing, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, trimming, and styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling during grooming procedures, demonstrating patience and gentle techniques to reduce stress for animals
- Support the team with additional animal care tasks such as kennel cleaning or watching a dog on a coworker's table when needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog grooming 2 years or more; certification in pet grooming is a plus
- Owning your own equipment, clippers, blades, shears, etc.
- Strong skills in animal restraint, pet care, and animal handling to ensure safe grooming sessions
- Ability to lift dogs safely and comfortably 50lbs or less.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Adaptable, reliable/dependable, strong work ethic, and ability to work within a team.
Pay: Commission-based.
Pay: $17.13 - $26.00 per hour
