POSITION SUMMARY
The Helper / Apprentice Glass Installation Technician works alongside experienced technicians to assist with the
installation, repair, and replacement of glass including windows, doors, mirrors, and
shower enclosures. This is a hands-on, entry-level trade position ideal for someone eager to learn a skilled
craft and build a long-term career in the skilled trades. No prior glass experience is required we will train
the right person.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Lead Technicians with:
Measuring, cutting, and fitting glass panels to specification
Repairing or replacing broken residential and commercial glass
Installing mirrors, shower doors, and decorative glass products
Applying caulk, sealants, and glazing compound
Loading, unloading, and safely transporting glass and materials
General Job Site Duties:
Prepare work areas and maintain a clean, organized job site
Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines
Assist with inventory management, supply runs, and van restocking
Communicate professionally with customers on job sites
Complete daily work orders, time logs, and checklists accurately
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Valid drivers license with clean driving record (required)
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and take direction
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Basic math skills (measuring, fractions, area calculations)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in construction, carpentry, or a related trade (helpful but not required)
Familiarity with hand tools: tape measures, levels, drills, utility knives
Experience in a customer-facing or service industry role
