The barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and specialty beverages while delivering fast, friendly customer service in a high-paced coffee stand environment. This role requires strong technical skills in espresso preparation, the ability to multitask during busy rushes, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Baristas will take customer orders, operate the point-of-sale system, and ensure accuracy in every transaction. They are expected to maintain consistency in drink quality, steam milk properly, and follow recipes and standards for all menu items.
In addition to beverage preparation, baristas are responsible for restocking supplies, maintaining the cleanliness of the stand, and assisting with opening and closing duties. The role requires reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages to standard
- Maintain speed and accuracy during high-volume periods
- Deliver friendly, engaging customer service
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the stand
- Restock inventory and assist with opening/closing duties
Required Qualifications
- Prior barista experience required (minimum 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and drink building
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume coffee stand or drive-thru
- Familiarity with POS systems
