POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Relations Support Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the communications ministry of the Assemblies of God by serving as the operational hub for the Office Public Relations & Communications.
This position provides high-level administrative, financial, communications and logistical support for multiple departments, ensuring that the Fellowship's news, media relations, executive communications, and public engagement efforts are carried out with excellence, professionalism, and efficiency. As the first point of contact for many internal and external stakeholders - including media representatives, ministry leaders, district offices, guests and the public - this position helps represent the Assemblies of God with warmth, accuracy, responsiveness and integrity.
The Support Specialist assists senior leaders and communications staff on strategic initiatives by coordinating critical administrative functions, managing financial processes, supporting executive operations, and ensuring seamless execution of national events and daily communications.
Take calls and respond to messages for Public Relations (PR) and on behalf of General Council of the Assemblies of God (GCAG), respond to incoming emails and mail to GCAG. Relay messages from reporters.
Manage financials, payments, contracts, and travel processes for three departments.
Tour host and coordinator, maintain tour calendar, auxiliary guides, and VIP guest relations.
Updates official AG calendar internally and online; creates annual district council list in coordination with all AG district/network offices.
Backup Executive Administrative Assistant to General Superintendent and provides administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer.
Review and edit AG News articles/newsletters, process contracts and payments for articles. Maintain list of national, local and religious reporters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum five years office experience.
- PC Skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong understanding of Assemblies of God doctrine.
- Proven organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional telephone abilities.
