technology business in Virginia Beach. The GBS Group is a commercial and government engineering services firm with a variety of contract types. This position will focus on our USCG business supporting external communications system upgrades.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Maintaining, repairing, calibrating, tuning, and adjusting electronic equipment used for:
- External Communications: Handling systems that send and receive messages, including high-frequency (HF), very high-frequency (VHF), and ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio and satellite communications.
- Systems Maintenance: Performing organizational level maintenance on external communications systems and associated equipment, including antennas and ancillary gear.
- Troubleshooting: Using schematics, diagrams, and testing equipment to diagnose and isolate malfunctions in complex electronic components and systems.
- Installation: Installing and inspecting various communication circuits, equipment racks, and associated cabling, sometimes involving fiber optics and soldering.
Candidates must possess the following professional experience and
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of electronic maintenance, repair or installation work
- Must have a proficiency using basic hand and power tool
- Must be flexible enough for periodic travel and stay overnight when required
- Must be able to pass security clearance check as some access to secure locations may be necessary
- Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a clean driver’s record.
