We are looking for an organized, detail oriented, beer-and-spirits-loving Staff Accountant to help us achieve our ambition!
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in corporate monthly closing activities, production of financial reports and analysis, submission of tax filings, maintenance of account reconciliations, and special projects related to invoice and expense tracking.
Essential Job Functions:
• Monthly Closing Activities and Analysis:
- Post monthly Journal Entries related to closing activities
- Reconcile monthly statements for bank accounts
- Maintain monthly account reconciliations and analysis on Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts
- Provide maintenance and tracking as needed for special projects related to invoices and expenses
- Support other members of accounting team as needed for back up duties and problem resolutions
• Square to JDE Reconciliation of gift shop, Shiner Beer e-commerce, Texas Special e-commerce locations (includes Square inventory by category, Square COGS reporting, receiving documents, inventory re-counts/re-stocks, comparing to JDE entries)
• Bank Reconciliations (Trumer: Wells Fargo checking account, Wells Fargo savings account using Square daily transactions)
• BBQ inventory reconciliation (compare month to month counts of inventory and reconcilate against JDE entries and Square sales) Assist in maintaining COGS analysis
• Rickhouse inventory reconciliation (compare month to month counts of inventory and reconcile against JDE entries and Square sales) Assist in maintaining COGS analysis
• Trumer Taproom reconciliation of sales/tips/service charges (balancing sales in Square to JDE, reconciling tips/service charges and sending to Payroll for processing)
• Spoetzl Brewery daily inventory reconciliation of finished goods (reconcile shipments against daily load out, reconcile shipments/production/gains/losses against physical counts)
• Backup A/R Specialist
• Backup A/P Specialist
• Data collection and reconciliation of Trumer brewing data for completion of Brewer’s Report of Operations (TTB)
• Backup for brewery operations tax filing including (TABC excise tax, TTB excise tax)
• Assistance in monitoring and processing media invoices for payment
• Update and maintain Spoetzl and Trumer maintenance and repairs reporting to assist with budgeting
• Ad hoc analysis including T&E spending and budgeting reports
• Additional job functions and responsibilities may be assigned as leadership sees fit

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP applications preferred but not mandatory
Competencies:
• Financial – An understanding of financial statements and the interrelationships between the income statement and balance sheet. An understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles. An understanding of the General Ledger as well as accrual accounting.
• Mathematical Skills- Must have highly developed conceptual mathematical and reasoning skills to handle calculations and account reconciliations.
• Computer Skills- Must be proficient using word processing, spreadsheet, and database tools. Strong Excel skills and experience with Access preferred.
• Organization- Must be highly organized, able to plan workload independently to meet deadlines as needed and have a high level of attention to detail. Must be able to deal with a wide range of issues on a day-to-day basis and adapt the schedule as needed.
