Private Home Direct Support Professional (DSP), PT - Industry High Wages
This position is with a young adult who needs support Monday and Tuesday.
- Monday and Tuesday 9 am to 5pm.
We’re currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support an individual living in their own home. This individual is in a wheelchair and does need assistance with ADL's and transfers. They are also looking for companionship and transportation to dr appointments, shopping etc. This individual has their own adapted truck that the DSP will drive whenever they go out into the community. There is also light housekeeping.

About the Role:
As a DSP, you’ll work one-on-one with one adult with disabilities—supporting life skills, community engagement, and personal goals such as independence, socialization, and employment. The individual is in a wheelchair and also requires assistance with ADL's.
You’ll help the individual participate meaningfully in their community while encouraging autonomy, safety, and dignity.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the individual in their home and community
- Assist with daily living (e.g., hygiene, dressing, meal prep)
- Assist in medication administration as needed
- Help plan and participate in community activities and outings
- Document progress and report changes in behavior or health
- Follow support plans (NJISP) and agency policies
- Use adapted vehicle
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid NJ driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Experience working with individuals with I/DD or in caregiving, education, or advocacy (preferred)
- Must be physically able to assist with mobility and personal care
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
