The Frederick Event Center (a Cohenterprises owned and operated property), the largest indoor meeting, conference, and banquet facility in Frederick, Maryland. The space is a beautiful 15,000 square feet of flexible event space along with its well-maintained grounds for those who prefer and outdoor venue.
The Event Center is also home to Caesars Sportsbook, Maryland Jockey Club Off-Track Betting Parlor and Long Shot’s sports bar and grille where billiards enthusiasts can enjoy bar fare while playing pool on 6ft & 10ft Diamond tables in the city’s largest billiard room.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Conference Center Event Manager to lead efforts in planning, coordinating, and executing events. This individual will be responsible for the management of all aspects from initial client consultation, budgeting, on-site logistics, staff supervision, and post-event analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all events and operations for the entire event space including all meeting space, Off-Track Betting, and Caesars Sportsbook.
- Conduct initial client meetings to go over objectives, budget, and preference.
- Oversee all aspects of the event on the day, including setup, guest management, and problem-solving to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage the sales pipeline and marketing efforts to attract new business and ensure high facility utilization.
- Schedule staff accordingly for events and ensure a clear schedule of activities during the event.
- Manage budget for events and meeting space.
- Handle any issues that arise during the event.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Event Management experience, required.
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Communications, Public Relations, and/or Business Administration, preferred.
- Comfortable to perform outside direct sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Familiarity with marketing strategies for event promotion is a plus.
