- Interpret and enforce the Florida Building Code and applicable local ordinances
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved plans, permits, and regulations
- Serve as the authority on code interpretation and application
- Perform or oversee inspections across multiple trades (building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)
- Review inspection results and determine approval status (approved, approved with comments, or rejected)
- Ensure timely completion of inspections to meet project deadlines
- Review construction plans and specifications for code compliance
- Provide guidance to contractors, engineers, and architects on code requirements
- Assist in resolving design and field issues to maintain compliance
- Coordinate with municipalities, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and approvals
- Support departmental processes including permitting and documentation
