Lutheran Child and Family Services (LCFS) is seeking an enthusiastic Volunteer & Events Coordinator to join our team and make a meaningful impact!
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recruitment and retention plan.
- Train and retain volunteers to support all LCFS programs.
- Establish an annual fundraising and community engagement calendar.
- Plan and execute volunteer events, including scheduling, coordinating with program leaders, and providing onsite support.
- Plan and execute all LCFS fundraising events, including developing event concept, budgeting, venue and vendor selection, marketing, and managing RSVPs.
- Engage LCFS donors, supporters, civic organizations, and local churches through various events.
- Promote events in collaboration with LCFS PR & Communications to ensure effective outreach and highlight the success of events.
- Maintain the LCFS volunteer database (Galaxy), updating volunteer roles and opportunities regularly.
- Assist with donor database maintenance, updates, acknowledgments, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; self-starter
- Enthusiastic about developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers and external agencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Galaxy is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Previous experience in event and volunteer coordination preferred
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License
- Ability to build respectful partnerships with staff, clients, volunteers, and vendors
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Able to maintain appropriate boundaries and respond to cultural differences
- Interest in philanthropy and maintaining donor confidentiality
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, not exceeding 40 hours per week
- In-office role, Monday to Friday
