The Youth Coordinator at The Foundation Academy LLC plays a vital role in assisting in providing oversite and managing programs designed for youth development. The coordinator recruits program participants, provide mentorship, ensures that programs run smoothly, engage students meaningfully, and align with the academy's educational mission.
Here’s a breakdown of the responsibilities and key skills typically associated with this role:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Development/Implementation and Recruitment:
- Assist in ensuring and executing youth programs that align with the academy’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Ensure programs provide a positive, structured environment for youth, fostering their growth and development.
- Recruit program participants and handle the enrollment process.
2. Supervision & Leadership:
- Ensure the Youth Development Program fosters a safe and positive learning environment.
3. Participant Engagement & Support:
- Build strong relationships with program participants, facilitators, and colleagues to ensure effective communication about program expectations, goals, and progress.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to youth participants, including motivating their attendance and program participation.
4. Monitoring Equipment & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, issuing of stipends, track equipment (laptops, printer, promethean board, etc), and provide regular (bi-weekly) reports to CEO and/or executive staff.
- Submit all required forms/data to CEO/CFO in a timely manner.
5. Collaboration:
- Coordinate with facilitators days/times/location to drop off necessary forms – when needed (materials, rosters, participant forms, attendance, and assessments).
- Assist in offering mentorship.
- Assist in handing off youth to Career Coach.
6. Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
1. Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, social work, psychology, or a related field is required.
- Three to five work related experience working with youth in a leadership or program coordinator capacity is highly beneficial.
2. Leadership & Communication:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both youth and staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
3. Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution:
- Ability to quickly identify issues or concerns and resolve them in a constructive and positive manner. Report all manner of conflict or behavioral concerns to CEO or designee.
4. Organization & Time Management:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute multiple activities and programs simultaneously.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
5. Technical Skills and Email:
- Comfort with using various software (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Excel) and emailing attachments.

Work Environment:
- This is a part time position, Monday thru Friday.
- Employee may elect to work remotely and/or in the office per supervisor approval and/or office needs.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
Other duties as assigned. Staff member will be informed of other assigned duties in a timely and cooperative manner.
