MEDICAL DIRECTOR

- NY State Medical License active and unrestricted
- Board Certification to respective specialty board preferred
- Current BCLS
- Current DEA Certificate
Schedule will include at least one evening session weekly and one weekend day monthly unless changed approved by supervisor
Description
Responsible for the overall clinical management of the practice and program assigned to the practice as above, including direct supervision of all clinical providers (medical) and monitoring the practice and on-site programs for meeting the organization’s access goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, training programs, and research initiatives. Responsible for maintaining a clinical practice at the assigned site and meeting all responsibilities of an attending physician. Allocation of administrative and clinical time is dependent upon the size and range of programs at the site and assigned by the Regional Medical Director.
Management Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of all providers who are assigned to this practice as their primary site
- Performs semiannual evaluations of all providers who are assigned to this practice as their primary site, and their annual competency evaluations
- Organizes monthly meetings with providers with documented minutes of meetings
- Participates in monthly office management meeting with nurse manager and office manager of site
- Ability to collaborate with all other clinical discipline as applicable to the site (dental, psychiatry and other clinical staff)
Monitors and manages monthly:
- Site’s Regulatory Compliance (Joint Commission, NCQA), include review of delinquent encounters, and attached providers in box and mailbox for review of compliance of results in box and consultation reports, and incident reports
- Accurate assignment of provider’s clinical hours as required
- Provider’s productivity and access
- Provider’s Quality Performance (Peer Review and Clinical Registries)
- Provider ‘s Evaluation (Ongoing Provider Performance Evaluation) at practice site
- Provider’s management of EMR email and patient portal
- Supervise the clinical performance of any training programs and trainees in collaboration with training program directors (e.g. Residency Program, Medical Student Rotations) at these sites when appropriate.
- Supervise the clinical performance or impact of any research programs operating at these sites when appropriate
- Collaborates with Nursing, Social Work and Administrative managers of the practice in the hiring and evaluation of practice staff, (and in reviewing of all patient complaints, incidents, assists in the EOC rounds of the practice)
- Communicates with their supervising regional medical directors regarding needs or requests of providers or practice staff
- Attends Regional Medical Director Meetings and Institute leadership meetings as assigned

- Maintains active medical practice of assigned clinical sessions weekly

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program

- Demonstrates excellent computer skills

- Previous clinical supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous leadership activities / Continuous Quality Improvement effectiveness preferred
