Responsibilities

• Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items to support the kitchen team
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including counters, floors, sinks, and storage spaces in accordance with sanitation standards
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting with tray or dish removal to ensure a clean dining environment
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, sinks, and basic food prep tools such as knives and mixers
• Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots or boxes of supplies while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety
• Follow all food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling of food products and prevent cross-contamination

Skills

• Experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of sanitation and kitchen health standards
• Strong understanding of food handling procedures and food safety practices
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and prep tools
• Basic knife skills for food prep assistance
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures including cleaning schedules and hygiene standards
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting
• Prior banquet or culinary experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
