POSITION: Family Support Team Clinician (Field-based)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The FST Clinician will work with an identified child (age 0-12) presenting with severe emotional, behavioral, or mental health difficulties and their families where the child/youth is in, or at risk for, out-of-home, institutional, or restrictive placements, and/or involved in multiple child and family-serving systems. The FST clinician will utilize evidence-based treatments and work closely with the Wraparound Specialists to assist families in reaching their goals. FST clinicians will be required to follow agency guidelines and requirements for client contacts, assessments, deadlines, documentation, and training.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited university in the area of psychology, social work, or related human services field.
- Licensed or license eligible in Florida
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children who have serious emotional disturbance, including experience working with family issues preferred
- Knowledge and experience in trauma informed care preferred
- Experience in child welfare preferred
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- The Family Support Team (FST) model provides family-centered services that combine traditional services with warm handoffs, exploring natural supports, and developing family protective capacities.
- The FST team is trauma-informed, culturally-aware, and requires experience taking a multigenerational approach
- The FST Clinician will receive training in High-Fidelity Wraparound and will be expected to follow the model to fidelity.
- The FST team works collaboratively with families to explore strengths, challenges, and identify both clinical and non-clinical supports needed. This can include coaching parents in parenting strategies and/or balancing everyday stressors like work, legal concerns, finances, and healthcare.
- The FST Clinician will complete intake assessments, including participation and completion of In-Depth assessments/Biopsychosocial, treatment plans and reviews, and other related documentation (medical records, case files) within the required time limits
- Participate in weekly supervision with direct supervisor and monthly FST group supervision.
- The FST Clinician will be required to participate in Child Family team meetings as scheduled and coordinated by the FST Wraparound Specialist.
- The FST Clinician will conduct direct face-to-face therapy with assigned children/families through the provision of individual and/or family therapy; telehealth may be utilized when appropriate.
- The FST Clinician will support families and the multidisciplinary team including the Wrap Around Specialists
- The FST Clinician may be asked to attend staffings/reviews, or other such meetings to represent the clients they are serving.
- The FST Clinician will be required to provide aftercare planning, follow-up services and refer clients to supportive services to supplement and/or augment treatment and counseling
- The FST Clinician will close cases when appropriate according to agency policies/procedures
- Abide by the Children and Families Incident Reporting Procedure (Supplement I to HRSR No. 215-6) and agency Incident Reporting Procedures
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and concurrent planning in accordance with administrative regulations and according to agency policies/procedures
- Attend and participate in professional development training as required by the department and developed by the agency
- Create, strengthen and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between the child, parents or legal guardian, and all professionals involved
- Uphold public trust and seek high levels of training, education, and supervision in the ethical application of counseling practices
- Maintain client records in accordance with Medicaid standards
- Attend and participate in monthly clinical meetings and peer chart reviews
- Other duties as assigned
