Sales Design Consultant

We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Design Consultant for our Marin showroom.

Position Summary

The Sales Design Consultant is responsible for generating sales through professional customer engagement, product knowledge, and solution-based design consultation. This is a retail showroom position that combines customer service, design guidance, and commission-based sales performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in the showroom in a professional and welcoming manner
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate flooring solutions
• Prepare quotes and process transactions using QFloors POS system
• Follow up on leads and generate new business
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
• Assist with showroom merchandising and maintaining visual standards
• Stay informed on product knowledge and industry trends
• Comply with company policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales experience required (home improvement or flooring industry preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in a commission-based sales environment
• Basic math and computer proficiency
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Bilingual skills are a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform showroom-related tasks

Compensation

Pay Range (Marin, CA): $25.00 – $35.00 per hour during introductory period
Actual starting rate will depend on experience and qualifications.

The first six (6) months of employment are considered an introductory period. During this time, employees will receive a guaranteed hourly rate within the posted range, plus a reduced commission percentage as outlined in a written commission agreement.

If both the Company and the employee determine that the employee is ready to transition to the draw-against-commission structure prior to completing six months, the transition may occur earlier by mutual written agreement.

Following the introductory period (or earlier transition, if applicable), compensation will consist of a $20.00 per hour draw against commission, with commissions earned pursuant to the applicable written commission agreement.

This is a non-exempt position. Overtime is paid in accordance with California law.

Total annual earnings vary based on individual sales performance. High-performing consultants may earn $100,000 annually; however, earnings are not guaranteed.
