Position Summary:
In this position as Development Associate, you will play a key role in advancing The Family Place's fundraising efforts by supporting donor engagement, development operations, and fundraising initiatives that secure critical resources for survivors of domestic violence. Working closely with the Development team, you'll help coordinate fundraising activities across individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and special events while ensuring donors receive timely acknowledgements, meaningful engagement opportunities, and clear communication about the impact of their support. You'll conduct prospect research that identifies new funding opportunities, manage donor communications that strengthen relationships, and maintain accurate donor data in Raiser's Edge that informs fundraising strategy and decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement & Fundraising Support
- Assist with donor communications, acknowledgements, and engagement activities for individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Prepare briefing materials, meeting packets, and reports to support donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Support donor engagement through site tours, events, and meetings.
Fundraising Campaigns & Events
- Serve as lead for the North Texas Giving Day campaign by securing matching funds and driving donations via social media, email, and community partnerships.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Coordinate guest lists, registration, sponsorship materials, and event communications.
- Assist with donor mailings, appeals, and follow-up communications.
Prospect Research & Donor Pipeline Support
- Conduct research on prospective donors and prepare donor profiles for development staff.
- Track donor engagement and maintain accurate records and updates in Raiser's Edge.
- Support donor pipeline tracking and development reporting.
Development Operations & Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in Raiser's Edge.
- Track gifts, pledges, and donor interactions to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist with fundraising reports and collaboration with finance on gift reconciliation.
Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1–2 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, customer service, or relationship management preferred
- Interest in building a career in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or community engagement strongly preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar donor database preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Mental and Physical Duties:
Duties are primarily performed in a seated office environment with occasional periods of standing, walking, and driving to pick up or deliver items. Limited physical effort may be required when lifting or carrying objects (less than 25 lbs). Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support fundraising events or development activities.
Essential Personnel Designation: Non-Essential
