The Eye Institute is a multi-specialist Ophthalmology practice, offering services ranging from comprehensive eye exams to specialty services including General Ophthalmology, Cornea, Retina, Glaucoma, Pediatrics and Adult Strabismus, Refractive and Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery.
About the position:
The Medical Front Office Receptionist is responsible for patient scheduling, registration, check in/check out processes, insurance eligibility verification as well as obtaining authorizations. Must have previous medical front office experience, be extremely dependable and able to work in fast paced environment.
Knowledge, skills, abilities required for the position:
- Previous experience with telephone systems.
- Knowledge of office management techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, communicate and present information.
- Knowledge of medical practice procedures and functions preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance and billing procedures including Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care Plans.
Required experience:
- High school or equivalent, preferred.
- One year working in medical office.
