What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometrist position at The Eye Center?
The Eye Center of Colorado is a well-established practice with over 30 years of patient care in Denver, Colorado. We are deeply committed to care for our patients with compassion while utilizing both our years of knowledge and advanced technology. We take pride in the warm, comfortable environment provided to our patients and staff. We are dedicated to listening to the patient and what their vision needs may be. As a full service practice we provide: Comprehensive Annual Exams, Contacts Lenses, Glaucoma testing, Diabetic Exams and follow patients with macular degeneration.
We are looking for a part time (2-3 day no weekends) Optometrist to join our team. You will be working alongside a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and our talented technician staff. Our team will allow our Optometrist to focus on delivering the best patient care. On average you will see 15-20 patients per day, which will consist of combination of comprehensive and follow up appointments. Our office has 6 exam lanes, 2 are specifically for optometrist use. We are equipped with advanced technology such as Autorefractor, topography, Clarus retinal photos, OCT, HVF. We utilizing a robust EMR/PM system.
Commonly accepted practices, tools and skills are required for this position. The Optometrist evaluates patient’s vision and eye health needs, documents findings in patient records and clearly make recommendations for patient’s future eye care needs. The Optometrist work in collaboration with the office to provide compassionate care that ensures all patients visits are personalized, memorable and provide the best possible experience.
Our ideal candidate for this Optometric position will be personable and driven by patient focused care. They will utilize clinical and interpersonal skills, while treating patients in a caring and friendly manner, and work well as a team while being solution oriented and having an entrepreneurial sense. The Eye Center will provide mentorship and training by our experienced staff to help with the transition into the practice.
Your regular duties include:
· Perform comprehensive eye exams
· Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
· Prescribe corrective lenses both glasses and contact lens
· Promote healthy vison through counseling and educating
· Maintain detailed patient records in our EMR system
· Handle eye care emergencies.
Optometrist job requirements & Qualifications
· Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
· Valid state license to practice optometry
· National Provider Identification (NPI) in good standing in Colorado
· Prior clinical optometry experience in retail, educational, or medical office setting is a plus
· This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment, and move about the office.
**This will be a Per Diem pay structure
