Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and request insurance referrals, and handle medical billing processes including collection of payments and copayments
- Manage patient records with accuracy by reviewing documentation, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers through phone etiquette and clear documentation review
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role with clinic experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare procedures, and health insurance processes including verification and billing a plus but not required
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally
