What are the responsibilities and job description for the BILLING SPECIALIST-FT position at The Eye Care Group?
Full time Billing Specialist is needed for a very busy growing Ophthalmology Practice that handles the billing functions for 4 sites. The Ideal candidate will be a certified medical coder with payment posting and billing experience, have used NextGen / Nextech and/or other Practice Management billing software. Experience is required with working claim denials and researching claims with coding related issues as well as extensive knowledge researching and applying Medicare edits and insurance policies. Other skills required include; payment posting (both manual and automatic posting), experience with patient phone calls explaining balances.
Ideal candidate will have previously worked for physicians in private practice, Ophthalmology ideally, and have proven working knowledge of medical billing, medical coding, and collections. Candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience working in a billing position for a medical practice or large busy doctor’s office. Team player with great customer service skills, ability to multi task and knows how to ensure claims are clean and compliant.
