Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paint or coatings
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles
- Perform specialized painting tasks including industrial painting, stucco application, plastering, caulking, and masonry work
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- No experience needed although preferred!
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction site procedures
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and industrial equipment such as welding machines and concrete finishing tools
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for measurements and calculations
- Hands-on experience with various surface preparation techniques including sanding, plastering, caulking, and stucco application
- Background in construction estimating or project planning is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently on construction sites with a focus on quality craftsmanship
