Camp Leader (Pt Seasonal)

TE Learning Center, a daycare through The Experience Church, is kicking off our summer programming and we are looking for Camp Leaders to join our team. Our facility will be located at 47998 Watson Rd., St. Clairsville, OH 43950. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged.  The child care Camp Leader is responsible for working with the Team Leader and Center Director to implement care & education for the children enrolled in his/her group. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: physical care giving, Camp Leaders should feel comfortable addressing large groups, interacting with young children, and also be able to make decisions under pressure. Other responsibilities include delegating tasks, educating campers about health and safety, planning activities, and improving the overall camp experience.  To be successful as a Camp Leader, you should demonstrate excellent stamina and leadership skills, and a friendly, positive attitude. Top candidates have a growth mindset, are team players, and possess stellar communication and deliberation skills., and facilitation of supportive relationships with Lead Teacher, Director, Co-workers, Parents, and Students.  This position is a seasonal part time position where you will work a rotating schedule.  

Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas;
2. Organizing groups and instructing campers.
3. Working with other counselors to plan various activities.
4. Delegating tasks and drawing up rosters.
5. Assisting with a range of administrative duties.
6. Encouraging and inspiring campers.
7. Assisting with conflict resolution.
8. Working with counselors and campers to organize social events.
9. Ensuring campers learn in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment.
10. Setting a good example for campers and staff.
11. Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication under the direction of Lead Teacher and Administration.
12. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications: Qualifications include but are not limited to:

1. Maintain Confidentiality at all times.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Experience mentoring or supervising children.
4. Good judgment and a strong moral and ethical code.
5. Ability to act in stressful situations.
6. Evidence of sound leadership skills.
7. Multitasking abilities.
8. First aid certification preferred.
9. Must meet Ohio State requirements and Child Care Certifications are necessary.
10. CPR/First Aid, SIDS/Shaken Baby Certified or be willing to obtain.
11. Must meet annual continuing education requirements.
12. Health exam, background check and other health screenings required.
13. Ability to perform physical labor as needed for position.
